Roo population explodes as demand for meat declines

WESTERN Queensland graziers are fighting a kangaroo population explosion as the roo meat export market flounders and the number of shooters declines.

AgForce says kangaroo numbers have increased by 45% per year since 2011 due to improved seasonal conditions and the death of the $23 million Russian export market.
