Lions have massive win over Tigers

NAMBUCCA Valley cemented their place in the top four with a massive win over the Grafton Tigers at Macksville Park.

In what loomed as a battle for a place in the top four, albeit early in the season, the Lions leapt out of the gates in a devastating first-half display.

Not only did they keep the Tigers goalless they managed to keep them scoreless as well.

Aaron Clarke was again superb for the Lions and he is quickly developing into one of the stars of the competition.

The Lions team is beginning to fulfil its promise with young gun Jed Ellis-Cuff starring across half-forward with four goals.

The Tigers managed to stem the flow of goals to a degree in the second-half but struggled without the direction and leadership of Daniel Zacek, in particular.

Compare this to the Lions who are on a roll and full of confidence ahead of a winnable encounter next week against the bottom-placed Coffs Swans.
