PRIME Minister Tony Abbott's chief business adviser, Maurice Newman, has described climate change as a hoax led by the UN.

In a column for The Australian yesterday, Mr Newman challenged the scientific modelling linking human action to climate change and argued the UN's real agenda was a world takeover.

"It's a well-kept secret, but 95% of the climate models we are told prove the link between human CO2 emissions and catastrophic global warming have been found, after nearly two decades of temperature stasis, to be in error," he wrote yesterday.

Mr Newman described global warming as a "hook" to install a new world order.

"This is not about facts or logic. It's about a new world order under the control of the UN," he said.

He also urged the Abbott Government to resist moves for a new global climate treaty to be reached in Paris in December.
