Bureaucracy shamed into action

AS we reported yesterday (right), octogenarians Basil and Doreen Griffin had been showering with a kettle for a week despite numerous complaints to Housing NSW about their hot water service not working.

After a front page expose of the shameful treatment of the Griffins, a contractor was despatched the same day and in 10 minutes, the problem was fixed.

“It was the best shower I’ve had in a week, and I’ve got to thank you (The Coffs Coast Advocate) for getting the hot water back on. You did a great job,” a grateful Mr Griffin said yesterday.
