92-year-old church burns down in Bonville

A HERITAGE church in Bonville has been destroyed by fire, with fire crews unable to save the building's facade.

Firefighters were called to the Holy Faith Anglican Church on the corner of Corner Pine Creek Way and Gleniffer Rd at Bonville just after 11pm last night.

Nearby residents raised the alarm to emergency services.

Fire & Rescue and RFS crews could not rescue the wood and iron structure.

Reports suggest the estimated cost of the damage is $200,000.

Police forensic investigators are scouring the scene this morning to determine the cause of the blaze.
