$50m Macksville Hospital upgrade gains traction
A PLANNED $50 million redevelopment of Macksville Hospital is gaining momentum with the completion of a clinical services plan.
The plan follows meetings with the hospital's staff and other stakeholders to inform the finalisation of redevelopment plans.
Further community consultation and information sessions will be held in coming months in the lead up to construction.
Member for Oxley Melinda Page encouraged Nambucca Valley residents to be engaged in the process.
"We need to get these processes right, so when construction starts, the needs of the community are built into the design of the newly redeveloped hospital," Ms Pavey said.
"We must also ensure that the wide-ranging requirements and capabilities of the Local Health District as a group are also included, as well as providing the world's best practice community health and outreach services."
NSW Minister for Health Jillian Skinner visited the hospital in September, telling staff and the community that construction would be completed in 2019.
