  JLT Community Series Coin Toss


  1. The Promoter is North Coast News Pty Ltd, Suite 2, Ground Floor, 144 – 148 West High Street, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales 2450.  ABN 78 000 055 578, Permit NSW/LTPM/16/00786.
  2. By entering this competition, Contestants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  3. Contestants must be permanent residents of New South Wales to be eligible to enter and live in The Coffs Coast Advocate distribution area.  
  4. Contestants who are under the age of 18 years at the time of entry must have parent or legal guardian consent to be eligible to enter.
  5. Contestants and nominees must be over 12 years of age to enter and be nominated.
  6. Contestants should be available to attend the event on the dates specified at Clause 14c and 15a, Prizes.


  1. To enter, Contestants must go to Coffs Coast Facebook page and nominate in 50 words or less, a person they feel is a Community Champion for their contribution to the Coffs Harbour community.  Facebook entry opens Tuesday February 14, 2017 at 00:00:01am AEDT.
  2. Contestants may nominate only once, and can only win one prize.   
  3. There is no cost to enter the competition; however internet connection and usage rates may apply. Contestants should obtain details of such costs from their service providers. The Promoter is not and will not be liable for any such costs.
  4. Entries must be received during the Promotion Period (refer Clause 23).  The Promoter takes no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, illegible or misdirected entries or any delays or failure in any telecommunications service or equipment.
  5. The Promoter may reject an entry if it reasonably forms the opinion that the Entry has been entered using false information or via automated entry means or by use of a competition entry service.
  6. The Promoter may, at its absolute discretion, declare an Entry made by a contestant invalid if the contestant tampers with the entry process, benefits from such tampering or submits an Entry that is illegible, incomplete or not in accordance with these terms and conditions.


  1. There will be three (3) winners.
  2. The winning Nominated Person (one (1) winner) will receive:
    1. Opportunity to do the Coin Toss prior to game commencement.
    2. Opportunity to meet with the Team Captains as well as photo opportunities on the field.
    3. A Family Pass (4 people) to the AFL Game between Sydney Swans V North Melbourne on Sunday February 19, 2017 at C. ex Coffs International Stadium.  
    4. The winning nominated person will be selected via a judging panel with the criteria being Best Community Champion.
    5. Family pass has a RRP of $120.00 (inclusive of GST).
    6. Winners must collect their prize from The Coffs Coast Advocate office prior to 4:00pm AEDT Friday February 17, 2017 or prize will be forfeited and will not be exchanged for another prize.  
  3. The nominator of the Best Community Champion will win:
    1. Two (2) tickets to the Sydney Swans V North Melbourne game at C. ex Coffs International Stadium for Sunday February 19, 2017, RRP $60.00 (inclusive of GST).  
  4. Winners must collect their prize from The Coffs Coast Advocate office prior to 4:00pm AEDT Friday February 17, 2017 or prize will be forfeited and will not be exchanged for another prize. 
  5. The prize is only valid for the event outlined on the Pass and cannot be used for any other event.
  6. The total maximum recommended retail value of the prize pool is $180.00 (inclusive of GST).
  7. All prizes are shown at the Recommended Retail Price and are inclusive of GST and the Promoter takes no responsibility for any variation in item value. 
  8. Any taxes which may be payable as a consequence of a contestant winning a prize, are the sole responsibility of that winner. 
  9. Prizes are non-transferable and can’t be redeemed for cash. 
  10. If the specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter may substitute a prize of similar nature and/or like or greater value.


  1. The competition commences at 00.01am AEDT Tuesday February 14, 2017 and closes at 11:59pm AEDT Thursday February 16, 2017 (“Promotion Period”). Entries received outside the Promotion Period will be deemed invalid.


  1. The following persons are ineligible to enter:
  • Employees of, or contractors to, the Promoter as far as they are directly associated with this competition;
  • The spouse, de facto spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent), of such employees and contractors (whether or not they live in the same household);
  • Contestants who have used or attempted to use any more than one name in order to qualify to win any contest run by the Promoter except in the case of a legal change of name.
  1. All Contestants acknowledge that even if the Promoter only learns of a person’s ineligibility after the Promoter has appeared to award the prize to the ineligible person, it may require the return of the prize or payment of its value to the Promoter to be dealt with as an unclaimed prize.


  1. The prize winners will be selected via a judging panel from Coffs Coast Advocate Newspaper, of the Best Overall Community Champion and the Nominator. Judging will take place at 9:00am AEDT Friday February 17, 2017 with the winning nominee and nominator being called immediately after the draw.
  2. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  3. All Contestants acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to publicise and publish his/her name, character and likeness. 
  4. All contest winners must avail themselves for a photo if required by the Promoter and acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to utilise publicity photos in any reasonable manner it sees fit without compensation to the Contestant.


  1. Prizes must be claimed in person by the winners from The Coffs Coast Advocate office, Suite 2, Ground Floor, 144 – 148 West High Street, Coffs Harbour NSW and Government issued Photo ID is required to confirm winner identify and residential address.
  2. Any winner must complete a Competition Release Form to confirm collection of their prize.
  3. Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian who will collect the prize on their behalf.
  4. It is the sole responsibility of the winner to claim their prize. 


34. The Promoter is not responsible for the loss of prizes due to incorrect or imprecise delivery details provided by a winner.  The Promoter also takes no responsibility for prizes lost or stolen after they have been released for delivery via postage or courier. 

35. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes. 

36. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained by any person and including, but not limited to consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its servants or agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winner(s) and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the winners.


37. All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter and its related parties, subject to the limits contained in the Privacy Statement and as set out in these terms and conditions.

38. The Promoter and its related parties, also collect personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may use and disclose such information in accordance with its privacy policy www.apnarm.com.au/privacy, including to sending ongoing information and promotional material about opportunities, services and products (relating to our business or a third party business) in which the Promoter believes you may be interested.

40. To facilitate your participation, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this promotion.
