Non smoking area at Plaza expanded

The non smoking areas at Park Beach Plaza have been expanded.

STARTING today, smokers will be required to imbibe in their habit further away from Park Beach Plaza's entrances.

For a long time the non smoking buffer at the busy Coffs Harbour shopping centre has been four metres from the Plaza's entrances.

This has now been extended to include no smoking under all awnings around the entire centre and a radius of 10 metres from each entrance.

The move has been made to ensure all Plaza employees and customers have their health and safety protected.

Centre manager for Park Beach Plaza Lorenz Beckett said that the changed policy will benefit a large majority of those who choose to shop there.

"We realise there will be some inconvenience for a few customers however these changes are to improve the shopping experience for the majority of customers and we believe we will see far greater benefit in the short and long term," Mr Beckett said.

"We hope customers understand that the introduction of this policy is an important step forward for Park Beach Plaza and the wider community."
