A police spokesperson today expressed alarm at the latest offences and hinted at a feeling of exasperation in the blue ranks.

IT appears a hardcore minority are determined to maintain the Coffs Coast's unwanted tag of drink driving capital of New South Wales.

Over the last 12 hours another three drivers have been charged with having excessive blood alcohol levels while behind the wheel.

At Raleigh, not far from the scene of the Urunga tragedy of January 8, a provisional driver now carries the stigma of an immediate licence cancellation after returning a blood alcohol reading of .086.

Provisional licence holder are required to have a zero blood alcohol level when in charge of a vehicle.

Further north, police laid drink driving charges against drivers at Woolgoolga and Halfway Creek.

A police spokesperson today expressed alarm at the latest offences and hinted at a feeling of exasperation in the blue ranks.

"You wouldn't believe some of the things we are seeing," he said.
