Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner wants to see NSW becoming more competitive in the areas of trade and investment.
A NEW Aboriginal affairs strategy is being developed and local residents are invited to be involved.
On Friday the NSW government's Ministerial Taskforce on Aboriginal Affairs will be in Coffs Harbour hosting a public meeting to hear directly from Aboriginal leaders, communities and other stakeholders.
Deputy premier and member for Oxley, Andrew Stoner, said the taskforce was committed to bringing the voice of the Aboriginal community to the decision-making table in order to develop a strategy that led to effective reforms in education and employment outcomes for Aboriginal people.
"This government is determined to work in partnership with the Aboriginal community to achieve better results in closing the gap and ensuring Aboriginal kids have more choices and opportunities," Mr. Stoner said.
The Ministerial Taskforce is interested in hearing about initiatives and evidence-based ideas that are already working and require more support.
"I strongly encourage all interested residents on the Mid North Coast to attend the public community meeting or visit the website and make an online submission."
The meeting will be held this Friday at the Coffs Ex-Services Club from 1.15pm to 4.15pm.
For more information about the Taskforce and further information about meetings, locations and times, go to www.daa.nsw.gov.au/taskforce/ or phone 9219 0702.
