Bondi Rescue lifeguards meet the locals at the Pet Porpoise pool during last year's visit
FIVE Bondi Rescue lifeguards will add a dash of colour to the Beachside Radiology Ocean Swims at Coffs Jetty on March 4.
Andrew Reid, Trent Maxwell, Jake Nolan, Corey Oliver and Adriel Young will make a whirlwind three-day visit as guests of the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak.
For Nolan, the visit will have special significance as he'll attempt to defend the 2000m long course title he won in 2011 after finishing runner-up at his first attempt the previous year.
Organising committee member, Dr Frank Hold, said everybody has fingers crossed for better luck with the weather on this occasion.
"The event is very important to the community, both socially and financially," he said.
"When the Bondi boys were last here it poured on the Saturday and was still rainy on race morning.
"However, it was still a very successful event and we were able to distribute $19,000 to local surf lifesaving clubs and various other deserving groups."
The Bondi Rescue crew will arrive on Friday and hold their first meeting with the public at Beachside Radiology in Park Avenue.
On Saturday morning, the lifeguards will land on Jetty Beach after jumping out of an aeroplane supplied by Coffs City Skydivers with the rest of the day reserved for personal appearances at a variety of venues including Park Beach Plaza and the Pet Porpoise Pool.
Finally, Sunday is race day.
