NORTH Coast tourism operators are cheering with big wins at the NSW Tourism Awards in Sydney, bringing home 19 gold, silver and bronze awards across 14 major categories.
The major winner locally was Coffs Coast Aboriginal Discovery with gold in Indigenous Tourism, while Dorrigo National Park took bronze in Ecotourism and the TAFE NSW North Coast Institute claimed bronze for Tourism, Education and Training.
"We had a strong line-up of just over 30 finalists across most major categories with more than half of our regional finalists taking home a major award," said Mid North Coast Tourism's executive officer Belinda Novicky.
Other highlights were the Mid North Coast bringing home gold, silver and bronze in the Deluxe Accommodation category and the Legendary Pacific Coast winning gold for Tourism Marketing.
