Allison Davidson, president of the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak, Zimbabwean Ambassador Jacqueline Zwambila, Rotarian Bev Stalling and Pelagia Mbanda.
IN another milestone for Coffs Harbour, the newly appointed Zimbabwean Ambassador arrived here yesterday on her first regional visit in Australia.
After a chance meeting with a Coffs Harbour Rotarian during her flight from Zimbabwe in February, Her Excellency Jacqueline Zwambila accepted the club’s invitation to visit.
Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak member Bev Stalling, in her role as Qantas crew member, shared her experiences with the incoming ambassador as a volunteer worker and supporter of Qantas Club children’s charity projects in Zimbabwe.
“It amazes me that ordinary Australians do a lot outside in the world. It’s one of the unique characteristics of Australians which I have really found charming and very wonderful. The people here are very concerned about others who are not doing so well,” Ambassador Zwambila said.
She spoke to 92 guests at a Rotary dinner last night and will visit the Pet Porpoise Pool and National Marine Science Centre today.
