NURSES and undergraduate nursing students are being urged to take advantage of a new Australian Government nursing scholarship scheme which supports continuing professional development and encourages nurses into Aboriginal medical services.
The scheme, comprising Clinical Placement Scholarships and Professional Development Scholarships, is administered by the Royal College of Nursing Australia to support the recruitment and retention of nurses in Aboriginal medical services.
The Clinical Placement Scholarships of up to $11,000 provide funding for nursing students to undertake a clinical placement.
The Professional Development Scholarships of up to $10,000 provide funding for registered and enrolled nurses already working in Aboriginal medical services to undertake further study and professional development activities.
Applications close on June 18, 2010. Phone 1800 112 240 or email scholarships@rcna.org.au for more details.
