The impact snapped the tree from its base and extensively damaged the vehicle.
A passenger was also uninjured. The driver will be issued a ticket for negligent driving.
Elsewhere, a young motorbike rider was treated at hospital after an accident on Hogbin Drive on Wednesday morning.
Police said the 17-year-old slammed into the rear of a Mitsubishi Lancer which had slowed for traffic just south of Newports Creek at 8.40am.
The rider fell from his machine and sustained grazing to his right wrist and lower back pain.
A Nissan Pulsar driver accidentally hit the bike where it had come to rest and a Hyundai Excel then hit the back of the Pulsar.
