THERE is an environmental edge to an interesting new initiative making its debut in Bellingen this weekend.
Transition Bellingen is holding the town’s first freemarket, where people are able to give or take away pre-loved items in a non-commercial community space.
For just a gold coin donation people can bring in excess produce from their garden, as well as skills to share, toys, books, clothes, food and furniture to give away or swap.
The freemarket is an attempt to recycle goods and keep them out of landfill and will be held at the Bellingen Showgrounds Hall between 2 and 3.30pm on Sunday
