NORTHERN STORM coach Jason Breton doesn’t care which club you play for or where you come from, if you want to get up some fitness over the summer then he hopes you can come along.
Next Wednesday Breton will start an eight-week fitness course where anyone can come along simply because he wants footballers on the Coffs Coast to be a little more professional.
“Every club I have played for semi-professionally has commenced in November or December the previous year,” Breton said.
“I don’t care if they are playing for Storm, Urunga or Grafton, if they want to get super fit and turn up to their own pre-season training in February or March, they can do it with Storm – no strings attached.”
The training sessions will be run at York Street Oval from 6.00pm on Wednesdays and from the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club each Sunday from 6.00pm.
“These sesssions are for anyone interested in preparing themselves properly for season 2010,” the Storm coach said.
“Irrespective of what team they intend playing for, I have designed a comprehensive eight-week program that should see them fit and ready to go.”
The sessions will be predominantly focused around ball work with Jason warning participants that you cannot disregard the required hard physical work that is required to build a fitness base.
After taking over the reins at Korora midway through the 2009 season, Breton is confident that the Storm are set to make a charge up the table next year.
The former Urunga premiership coach has recruited the services of five senior personnel to assist in the coaching staff including former paramedic and local identity Ian Brown who was also a part of the Raiders’ 2006 success.
Brown will join Orara Valley’s 2009 coach Jason Snell as well as Neil Brayshaw, Brian Lacey and Kerry Albert in working with the senior group in an all out effort to progress the football club in 2010.
“Northern Storm is dedicated to becoming the most professional footbal club in the district and it starts next week.”
