BUMBLING French police detective Jacques Clouseau won't be at Rex Hardaker Oval tomorrow but there will no shortage of 'Pink Panthers'.
When Sawtell take to the field tomorrow wearing pink jerseys to face Bellingen, it will all be part of a special effort by the Panthers to raise money for research into men's cancer.
More than 700 men die on the Mid North Coast each year because of cancer and tomorrow is Sawtell's way of helping to make a difference.
The under 18s and reserve grade will wear yellow armbands as part of the Cancer Council's 'Call to Arms' initiative and during the day the two teams will have the yellow collection boxes for those that wish to give to the worthy cause.
There are also a number of the reserve-grade players led by captain-coach Peter English who have signed up for 'Dry July'. This initiative challenges people to last a month without drinking alcohol and the funds raised from sponsorship of these brave 'dry' efforts directly benefit the lives of adults living with cancer.
The pink jerseys are the highlight of the day though and they will be auctioned at the Sawtell Hotel during the after-match function for anyone wanting to have one.
