Hold-up at bakery

COFFS HARBOUR police are hunting two men who held up Bushman’s Bakery at Northside Shopping Centre last night.
COFFS HARBOUR police are hunting two men who held up Bushman’s Bakery at Northside Shopping Centre last night.

The drama unfolded at 8pm when the pair, each armed with sticks, gained entry to the premises and confronted a 26-year-old male employee.

They demanded money and fled from the shop with an undisclosed sum of cash and cigarettes.
They were last seen running east in a laneway behind the shopping centre.

The staffer, who was not injured, contacted police.

Detectives and general duties officers converged on the precinct, set up a crime scene and searched the immediate area.

One of the robbers is described as 170cm tall, with a slim build, wearing a dark jumper and pants and an orange bandanna over his face.

The other was also about 170cm tall, with a solid build, wearing a white shirt and black pants and a white cloth over his face.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have information about this incident to contact Coffs Harbour police on 6652 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” said Peter O’Reilly, the Coffs/Clarence police acting crime manager.
