POLICE are continuing their investigations into a blaze which badly damaged a car at Toormina early yesterday morning.
A 37-year-old woman heard a loud noise outside her McFadyn Street home about 12.50am and discovered her Mazda 323 hatch on fire on the front lawn.
She raised the alarm and firefighters and police dashed to the scene. The fire crews extinguished the blaze.
Police said the cause of the fire was not known.
• INTRUDERS have stolen a fuel container from a runabout at Urunga. Some time between 5pm on Tuesday and 10.15am on Wednesday, the offenders stole the petrol tank from the small boat which was on a trailer at the Kalang River Motel in Ferry Street.

• LOUTS caused $500 in damage when they smashed a car at Woolgoolga overnight on Wednesday.
They attacked the rear windscreen of the silver Hyundai parked in Nightingale Street.

• A MAN and a woman have died in an apparent domestic-related shooting incident in northern NSW.
Police found the body of a man with a gunshot wound inside a home in Kennedy Street, Armidale, after receiving reports at about 7pm on Wednesday that shots had been fired.
Officers found a critically injured woman inside the house and gave her first aid until paramedics arrived. She was taken to Armidale Hospital where she died a short time later.
