Cale way too ugly for his t-shirt

YOU would hardly describe Coffs Hotel barman Cale Bainbridge as ugly, even though the shirt he's been sporting for the past month says he is.

YOU would hardly describe Coffs Hotel barman Cale Bainbridge as ugly, even though the shirt he's been sporting for the past month says he is.

By sporting the message 'I'm U.G.L.Y, I need help', the 21-year-old has deliberately drawn attention to himself to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

The initials really mean Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You and the strategy has paid dividends - Cale raised almost $1500 for the nationwide promotion which has just finished.

Up the road at the Plantation Hotel, barman/cellarman/supervisor Stephen Tubbs was also busily fundraising to the tune of $500.

“We also did laps of the pub and asked people for money. We'd get $100 every lap,” he said.

“The staff also did a running race and a sack race and we got $400 from that.”
