IMAGINE not being able to afford to keep your family warm.
A lot of people living on the Coffs Coast simply can't.
That's why Coffs Quilters, Coffs Harbour City Library, Woolgoolga Knitters, and a number of ladies from across the Coffs Coast have made it their mission to do something about it this winter.
The women have been knitting their fingers raw for the Wraps of Love initiative, and yesterday sent off more than 100 quilts for those less fortunate than themselves.
“It's really captured the imagination of a lot of the girls,” Coffs Quilters president Margaret Tozer said.
Coffs Harbour City Library team leader Judy Atkinson said the initiative had such a great response from the public that they would continue to take donations of wool.
“Anyone who wishes to donate wool can drop it into our Woolgoolga, Toormina or Coffs Harbour sites,” she said.
Anyone wishing to participate or donate wool can find the quilters at the Cavanbah Centre every Thursday morning.
