Coffs Harbour race track.
AS this photo by Coffs Coast Advocate photographer Trevor Veale shows, the floods are causing havoc with sport across the Coffs Coast.
While wet sporting fields are nothing compared to the losses suffered in homes and businesses throughout the region this week, the big wet has caused quite a disturbance to the weekend's planned sporting activities.
Judging by this picture it will definitely be a case of pouring over the form guide to find mud runners for Coffs Harbour's TAB meeting due to be held on Tuesday.
Racing isn't the only sport on the Coffs Coast that will be affected by the deluge.
Golfers who are prepared to brave the wet conditions will have plenty of opportunities over the weekend to take a drop due to their ball resting in casual water and you can bet London to a brick that 30 centimetre preferred lies through the green will be the order of the day.
In rugby league circles, the Oxley Pioneers trials set for tomorrow with matches between the Group 2, 3 and 4 representative teams have been moved from Bellingen to Port Macquarie while Coffs Harbour's match on Sunday has also been moved to Port Macquarie due to the wet condition of Advocate Park.
The Sharks have advised that Comets fans who make the trek south on Sunday will get into the Port Regional Stadium on Sunday for the cost of a gold coin.
North Coast Football were due to start their season this weekend but most soccer players from Macksville up to Yamba will have to keep their boots in the cupboard for another fortnight as all junior and over-35s matches scheduled for this weekend have already been cancelled, while play in most matches in the senior competitions look doubtful.
All of the football codes will be taking a break next weekend due to Easter which means there's two weeks for the fields to dry out and play can hopefully return to normal.
