Nambucca Valley roads crumble

ROADS have fallen away in the Nambucca Valley from the floods and more damage is likely to occur, according to council.

Nambucca Shire Council director of engineering, Bruce Redman, said many roads have damage to bridge approaches, and gravel and bitumen have been stripped off roads.

“Roads have fallen away, landslips large and small have occurred on many roads, and culverts have collapsed,” Mr Redman said.

“Access is restricted to many areas and restoring that access will take time.”

Mr Redman said floodwaters have prevented many areas from being inspected and the number of problems will grow.
