Second hottest day of the year
FORGET spring, it appears summer was beating down on Coffs Harbour today.
The mercury rose to 31 degrees this afternoon just after 3pm.
According to Bureau of Meteorology records, that makes today the second hottest day of the year behind the heat of January 11, which saw temperatures rise to a high of 31.8 degrees.
With gusty winds forecast to continue tomorrow and a number of fires already burning, Total Fire Bands have been declared across much of north-eastern NSW for Friday.
The forecast for Coffs Harbour over the next few days is full sun and strong northerly winds.
