Woman injured in crash on the Waterfall Way

1pm: A WOMAN has been injured after the car she was driving became involved in a crash with a semi-trailer on the Waterfall Way.  

Police said the accident happened near the Darkwood Rd turn-off at Thora around 11.40am.

The woman was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital, while the driver of the truck was taken to the Bellingen Hospital. 

Traffic was affected in both directions. 

The Westpac Rescue Lifesaver Helicopter was initially tasked to the scene, but called off mid-flight given the accident was not as serious as initially thought.

Earlier emergency services responded to another accident on the Waterfall Way, 7km west of Bellingen.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution in wet conditions this afternoon.

 

12.30pm: THE Westpac Life Saver Helicopter has been tasked to the car and truck crash on the Waterfall Way near Thora.

It is understood two people are reported trapped at the scene and one person has been injured.

More information will be released at a later date.  

 

11.45am: EMERGENCY services are responding to a two-vehicle crash on the Waterfall Way near Thora.

Passing motorists have called 000 to say a semi-trailer and a car have crashed and a female driver remains trapped near the Darkwood Rd turn-off.

The crash was reported around 11.40am.

Police have also responded to a less serious two-vehicle on the Waterfall Way, 7km west of Bellingen this morning.

Motorists have faced delays on both scenes.
