Police are attending an incident in central Coffs Harbour where a man is alleged to have threatened self harm.

POLICE have blocked access to Radford Place in central Coffs Harbour and declared a crime scene after a man is alleged to have threatened self harm.

Negotiators have been at the location since late morning and ambulance paramedics are in attendance.

The man is believed to be 24 years of age and is known to police and paramedics following previous incidents

A NSW Police media spokesperson said this incident ended peacefully and "having threatened self harm the man was taken for assessment."
