NORTH Coast Football juniors will get the chance to shine next year against the best young talent Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) has to offer after entry into the PS4 National Premier League (NPL) was approved this week.
North Coast Football general manager Reuben Robertson said North Coast Football squads in under-13, 14 and 15 will compete against 13 other teams from throughout the Northern NSW Football catchment area.
"The National Premier League is the competition pathway for our junior players who want to become professional footballers in the long run or at least improve themselves to the best of their ability,” Robertson said.
"The competition itself runs from March until September. It's games against all the other zones within the organisation so we're talking, Mid North Coast, Newcastle, Hunter region and Northern Inland Football as well,” he said.
There also remains an opportunity to implement an under-16 squad in 2017. However, should this prove unattainable, NCF will add the age group in the 2018 season.
"In the future we also expect to see it start to develop in the female side of the competition,” Robertson said.
