Coffs local wins almost $350,000 in record pokie payout

ONE lucky punter has won the jackpot of a lifetime at Ce.x Coffs taking home a cheque for $346,456.17 in a record gaming win for an Australian registered club.

The club member ecstatically walked away with the massive win fall as the first winner of the state-wide Megabucks Jackpot on Friday, December 5.

"This is a new win to add to our list of big winners including our $1.8 million Keno win by another delighted member in 2013," Ce.x Group CEO John Rafferty said.

The windfall was Australia's biggest ever through a state-wide poker machine link jackpot.

Run by IGT and Maxgaming in late September, the link started at $250,000 and rapidly grew day-by-day.

"We carefully monitored the jackpot as it climbed higher each week," IGT sales director Andrew Neagle said.

"We're delighted that one of our top customers, C.ex Coffs, has been the lucky venue and I'm sure that the winner will be having an extra special Christmas this year."
