Last picture show for friends of Sawtell Cinema this Friday

ONE month out from the closure of their beloved theatre the Friends of Sawtell Cinema are holding a final film night this Friday.

The screening of Arbitage, starring Richard Gere, will be the last for the Friends group.

Friends president Leonie Henschke said the owners want to sell the property even though the Friends of the Cinema have offered to raise the money for the changeover to digital technology.

"We remain hopeful that a buyer will be found soon and fundraising can begin," Ms Henschke said.

The Marian Grove Ukelele group will perform before the curtain parts at 6.30pm.

Admission is free for Friends and just $15 for the general public.
