POLICE are summoned to many strange incidents around the Coffs Coast but were unprepared for a call-out with a difference at Park Beach Road on Saturday morning.

Around 7am information was received a man was allegedly attacking a motor vehicle parked in a shopping centre bay.

Upon arrival a check of the man's identity revealed he was actually the owner of the vehicle and had been taking out his rage against it.

Witnesses said the man had also invited passers-by to participate in the 'assault.'

A police spokesman said the culprit appeared to be well-affected by alcohol and was arrested at the scene before being taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station for further questioning.
