Disgraced detective's sentencing date delayed for two weeks

SENTENCING in the misconduct case against disgraced NSW State Crime Command detective Anthony John Farrell has been delayed for two weeks.

The special operations detective, who is currently suspended without pay, was posted in Coffs Harbour when he leaked confidential police intelligence to members of the public.

The 40-year-old was arrested in April last year and has since pleaded guilty to misconduct.

He was expected to be sentenced in the Sydney District Court on Wednesday but missing paperwork delayed the proceedings until November 21.

A Coffs Harbour businessman, found guilty last month of making a collusive agreement with Farrell, had his sentence date vacated on Thursday and is expected to appeal the verdict on November 30.
