THEY'RE the most popular boy band on the planet at the moment and Coffs Harbour is about to get its own taste of One Direction.

While Niall, Harry, Zayn, Liam and Louis won't be in town, local teens will at least be able to buy the band's latest merchandise when 1D World comes to town on January 10.

1D World is a purpose-built truck that will be travelling up and down the east coast allowing 'Directioners' who can't wait until the British quintet's September tour to get their hands on a limited number of T-shirts, hoodies, posters, photo sets, wristbands, photo frames, phone covers, bags notebooks, dolls and more.

1D World operations manager, Victoria Orford, said the travelling roadshow is expected to attract crowds of teens.

"We're looking forward to sharing the 1D World experience with local Directioners in regional New South Wales and adding some extra excitement these school holidays," she said.

The 1D truck will be at McDonald's Coffs Harbour North between 9am and 5pm.
