COFFS Harbour’s Darktown Strutters will take the next step towards possible global stardom this month when they play in the State finals of the Global Battle of the Bands in Sydney.

Formed less than a year ago, the teenage rock band won the regional section at Newcastle in July.

On November 25 they will take on the whole of the state at Shush Nightclub, with some help from Coffs Harbour City Council, which has provided a $400 Arts and Cultural Development grant.

The Strutters are 16-year-old lead guitarist and vocalist Sean Rudner, 15-year-old bass guitarist Hayden Marshell, 16-year-old drummer Cameron Ross and 17-year-old guitarist Victor Jones.
