A RESCUE is underway this morning at Scotts Head to help a woman, who is stranded on a cliff top with an ankle injury.

Emergency services have been told the woman, aged in her 60s, slipped on a walking track on the northern end of Middle Head Beach around 11am.

The woman is unable to walk and is situated roughly 30 minutes walk down a steep track.

Rescuers have been tasked to the scene, including ambulance paramedics and a Macksville-based VRA crew.
