AN ALLEGED serial thief has been charged over multiple break and enters offences on the Coffs Coast.

The 19-year-old Bowraville man is due to appear in court today after a lengthy police investigation into a number of break and enters on the Coffs Coast this year.

The arrest comes as a breakthrough for a police investigation into a spate of break and enter offences committed in Nambucca Heads, Bowraville and Toormina since January.

Police from the Mid North Coast Command and Coffs Harbour Target Action Group executed a search warrant on a house in Gumbangirra Rd, Bowraville on Thursday about 7.20am.

Police said officers seized a number of items from the house believed to be linked to the offences.

It's alleged the man was involved in break and enters at the following locations:

A Nambucca Heads supermarket on Wednesday where he attempted to take a safe and stole confectionery.

A liquor store at Urunga on Wednesday where alcohol and cigarettes were stolen.

A petrol station at Toormina on Wednesday where drinks, confectionery and sunglasses were stolen and a tyre supplier at Toormina where cash and tyres were stolen.

A tyre supplier at Nambucca Heads on Monday, April 30  where a safe was stolen, along with a break-in to an electrical store at Nambucca Heads where a car was stolen.

The man was also charged over a break-in to a store at Bowraville where a safe was stolen on January 16.

He was taken to Macksville Police Station where he was charged with six counts of aggravated break, enter and steal, larceny and illegal use of conveyance.

He is expected to appear in Macksville Local Court today.
