Footy Tipping Competition Terms and Conditions

1.    Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.
2.    Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 years or over who fulfil the entry requirements.
3.    Employees of APN and their respective advertising agencies, newsagents and subagents and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
4.    Competition commences Friday, March 5th, 2010 and closes 11.59 pm (AEST) on Sunday 10th October (promotional period).
5.    Winners will be published Friday October 15 in the participating newspapers listed in #6.
6.    To enter, participants must register with www.footytips.com.au under this APN website’s and corresponding newspapers’s, Footy Tipping competition. 26 weekly codes must be submitted on the Newspaper/Websites Footy Tips competition Home Page, on login, at www.footytips.com.au. The codes must be collected from the corresponding newspaper’s Wednesday edition over the 26 week NRL season. There will be one code published weekly in the paper. The participating publications are: Daily Mercury, The Morning Bulletin, The Observer, Fraser Coast Chronicle, Sunshine Coast Daily, The QT, The Chronicle, Tweed Daily News, The Northern Star and The Coffs Coast Advocate.
7.    This is a game of skill and winners will be determined by the highest correct footy tipping scores in each participating region. The grand prize winner’s will be the three highest Footy tipping scores from the participating 10 APN newspapers (listed in #6)/websites, within QLD and Northern NSW.
8.    The prize pool consists of three Panasonic  HD Plasma and Blu ray home theatre system packages (each valued at $4990 RRP) as the grand prizes. The 3 winners will be selected by the top scoring tipsters from the 10 participating newspaper/websites that have successfully entered the prize code each week over the 26 week season. 2nd prize pool are 10 Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera (each valued at $130 - $200 RRP) (one per newspaper) for the highest scoring tipster per masthead that has successfully entered the 26 codes required for eligibility, 3rd prize pool are 10 Ipod Nanos (each valued at $199 RRP (one per newspaper) for the second highest scoring tipster per masthead that has successfully entered the 26 codes required for eligibility and footy merchandise packs (each valued at $150) (one per newspaper) for the third highest scoring tipster per masthead that has successfully entered the 26 codes required for eligibility. Simply collect your code from one of the Wed editions of the publications listed in #6, and enter in the code, on your Footy Tips Home Page.
9.    Weekly ladder results will be published every Friday of the 26 week season in the Game On section within each participating publication (listed in #6) or on the website sport page.
10.    Judging will take place at APN, Level 3, 33 Park Road, Milton, by the APN Newspaper division. Prize fulfilment will be completed by APN Newspaper Division on receipt of the correct postal address information.
11.    The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value if the prize is for some reason unavailable.
12.    It is the entrant’s responsibility to advise the Promoter of any change of personal details and the Promoter bears no responsibility for incorrect postal address information which result in prizes not received.
13.    We are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by you or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of the competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
14.    We are not responsible for lost, late, incomprehensible or incorrect entries in the competition. We also accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from prize winnings in the competition.  You should seek Independent financial advice about such matters.
15.    In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or (without limitation) any other event outside our reasonable control, we are entitled to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition - subject to any written directions from the various regulatory bodies responsible for supervising the conduct of the competition (the Lotteries Departments).
16.    If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, we are entitled in our sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and (subject to any written directions given by the various Lotteries Departments), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
17.    The winners release the Promoter and their related bodies from any and all causes of action, losses, liability, damage, expense (including legal expenses) cost or charge suffered, sustained or in any way incurred by the winner as a result of any loss or damage to any physical property of the winner, or any injury to or death of any person arising out of, or related to, or in any way connected with the Promoter or the prize.
18.    In the event of a promoter other than APN cancelling any event related to this prize, APN cannot be held responsible.
19.    By entering this competition you agree to allow APN and its partners in this promotion to contact you for any future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes. All entries become the property of the Promoter.  
20.    The winners for each newspaper agree to participate in any news media activities surrounding the promotion (e.g. interview and photo, for sports pages of our website and or newspapers)
21.    APN Online s collects your information to include you in this competition and will disclose the information to others who help us run the competition.  We may also use the information to assist us in improving our goods and services and to contact you in the future in regard to our other goods and services.  We may share your information with other persons or entities that assist us in performing the above or with another company which provides prizes for the competition.  You can contact us to gain access to your personal information by writing to The Privacy Officer, APN 3/33 Park Road, Milton.
